IranBana M Khalesi
I love art and this love grows within me” This is how the award winning Iranian artist Bana M Khalesi describes her vocation in art. That, and perhaps the fact that she comes from several generations of artists, explains her natural inclination and accomplishments in many aspects of art. Bana is a sculptor, abstract painter animator, designer and puppet animator..
Born into a family of artists, Bana’s focus has always been on art. Having a very loving and supportive family of artists - her mother is a sculptor and her father is a textile designer, helped nurture Bana’s natural talents and tendencies. As a child she could be found more often creating her art than playing with her brothers. As well, all of her grandparents were artists: architects, jeweller designers and producers or silk rug hand-crafters. Art is in Bana’s blood and soul.
After graduating from the Cultural Scientific University of Art and Architecture with a BA in Art, Bana continued to grow as an artist and as an educator. She became a Member of Iranian's Sculpture Association and the Iranian's Painter's Association .
Member of Abi Bikaran (Boundless Blue) group. Bana also began teaching in the Childrens Development Educatiion Center and at the Cultural Scientific University of Art and Architecture -Tehran.
Bana has always explored various mediums for her expressions and takes inspiration from the beauty and freedom of the natural world. A soaring bird suddenly transforms into an acrobat in Bana’s mind and art.
Bana has exhibited extensively in Iran, Dubai, England and Canada. She still lives and teaches in Tehran and is a member of Abi Bikaran (Boundless Blue) group.
